The Stars This Week — 10 July 2023

Chandra Lagna Transit Chart — Moon in the 1st/Ascendant

The week begins with the Moon transiting the sign of sidereal Aries.  This highlights the ongoing Venus-Mars conjunction since Aries is ruled by Mars.  Venus-Mars alignments can facilitate all forms of social interaction, including those of a romantic or sexual nature.  While the early week could therefore be conducive for get-togethers and meetings, we should note that both planets suffer from an affliction from the 5th house/120 degree trine aspect from Rahu and the opposition aspect from Saturn. This double affliction may therefore tend to bring out the negative side to this conjunction, namely, conflict (Mars) involving women and social interaction (Venus).  Since the Venus-Mars conjunction occurs in the 5th house from the Moon, the focus of social interactions may tend towards games and recreation, children, and investing.  The influence of Rahu and Saturn on Venus and Mars suggest that interaction could have a challenging or onerous quality, although they events and situations may well turn out fine in the end.

In terms of zodiac signs, the Moon’s transit through Aries from Monday until Wednesday afternoon (EDT) is more likely to benefit individuals with prominent Aries in their horoscope since Jupiter is conjunct the Moon in Aries and Mars is conjunct benefic Venus.  People with strong Taurus or Libra (ruled by Venus) are more likely to have a more difficult first half of the week as the collective influence of Mars, Rahu and Saturn suggest obstacles and the need for adaptive and reactive behavior.

Gemini and Virgo individuals may also come under more stress than usual due to the opposition aspect of Pluto to Mercury, which rules both of those signs.

Cancer could fare well as the Moon’s conjunction with Jupiter and Rahu hints at expanding, if unusual, horizons.

Leo may have to be focused on important but demanding matters as the Venus-Mars conjunction may attract a lot of energy this week.

Indviduals with strong Scorpio could have a tougher time of it this week since it sits in the dussthana 8th house, while its ruler, Mars, is aspected by Rahu and Saturn, alongside a somewhat helpful Venus.

The Jupiter-ruled signs, Sagittarius and Pisces, both look pretty good as Jupiter is in fairly good shape and neither sign is strongly aspected by malefics, except Pisces which gets the 8th house Mars aspect.  Being 12th from the Moon, Pisces could see difficulties arising from foreign places or be somewhat more prone to disappointment.

The Saturn-ruled signs, Capricorn and Aquarius, look a bit challenged this week due to the combined aspects from Mars and Ketu upon Saturn. Capricorn could have troubles at work (10th house) while Aquarius (11th house) may experience hassles involving income and friends.

Elections — Good times, bad times

In terms of this week’s best and worst election times, the early week seems best avoided.  There are too many possible sources of problems due to the Mars-Rahu, Mercury-Pluto and the Venus-Mars alignments.

Later in the week could be better, such as when the Moon transits Taurus from Thursday to Saturday.  While its ruler Venus will still have to contend with the ongoing Mars conjunction, it will align with Neptune and Pluto on Friday and Saturday.  This could be more positive for social interactions, both business and personal.   The Rahu-Venus aspect will also be in play, however, and could introduce some disruptive and unexpected situations into the mix.
