Transit Outlook — Week of 3 June 2024

(2 June 2024)  There are some constructive transit alignments this week.  After Mercury’s ingress into Taurus late last week, there are now five planets in the sign of the bull.  Taurean themes of wealth, luxury and steady progress may therefore become more prominent.  Hard-headedness may also be more prevalent in social interaction, especially in matters of competing interests and negotiation.

There are also two exact conjunctions this week and they both happen on Tuesday, June 4.  Venus conjoins the Sun at 20 degrees of Taurus while Mercury conjoins Jupiter at 8 degrees of Taurus.  Since both conjunctions involve benefics (Venus, Mercury, Jupiter), positive effects are more likely to manifest.  While Venus suffers from the combustion with the Sun, much of this damage is nullified since Venus is in its own sign of Taurus.  More broadly, we can say that the strength of Venus in its own sign could increase the likelihood of favourable developments at both an individual and collective level.   Home and family matters are especially favoured with the Venus-Sun conjunction since the Sun rules Leo, which is the 4th sign from Taurus.  In electional/muhurta terms, this week could therefore be positive for starting any projects relating to the home or real estate.

Like last week, the Venus-Sun conjunction is aligned with Ketu, the South Lunar Node.  This could also introduce some measure of spirituality into social interactions.  In a more secular setting, the Ketu influence is also associated with things that are unconventional and somehow challenge the status quo.  Therefore, attempts to adhere to traditional roles and relationships may be frustrated or follow an unexpected direction.

The Mercury-Jupiter conjunction also looks generally positive for matters relating to knowledge, communication, and intelligence.  This would be a great time to start writing a book or some other creative venture, or publish an online post or article.

The recent sign changes of Mercury and Mars may shift some of the underlying energies.  With Mercury now in Taurus, Saturn is in the 10th sign from Mercury, along with all the other planets in Taurus.  Since Mercury is karaka for mental work and service, this could emphasize a more conservative approach to the workplace, especially as it pertains to leadership.  Bosses may be regarded with deference, and are more likely to respond positively if treated in this manner.  With Saturn well-placed in Aquarius, a practical and conscientious approach to work is more likely to yield benefits, even if it may seem a bit constraining to more innovative thinkers.  Slow and steady wins the race here with Saturn in the 10th from Mercury.

Mars is now in sidereal Aries and despite its favourable rulership over that sign, some of its more negative significations may be more likely to appear due to its relative placement with other planets.  Specifically, the 12th house from Mars symbolizes confinement and penalties and that now holds malefic Rahu in the sign of Pisces, along with Chiron and Neptune.  Using the logic of Karaka Lagna, it is worth speculating if Donald Trump’s conviction is somehow related to this tense relative placement of Mars and Rahu.   While Mars was just at the very end on Pisces when the May 30 conviction was handed down, the possibility of prison now hangs over Trump as Mars moves further into Aries.  This will accentuate this negative side of Mars in the coming weeks as Mars and Rahu move into a degreewise alignment in late June.  While prison time may be less likely for Trump in the July 11 sentencing, some kind of punishment (Mars + 12th house) will be forthcoming.
