Transit Outlook — Week of 27 May 2024

(26 May 2024)  There are several interesting alignments this week.  Jupiter (7 Taurus) is front and center as it remains in a nice double alignment with Neptune (5 Pisces) and Pluto (7 Capricorn).  Jupiter’s reputation as a fortunate and benefic influence suggests that new actions and ventures begun this week are more likely to work out well in the long run.  While the 60-degree Jupiter-Neptune alignment is now a bit past exact, there is likely to be some positive after-effects, especially in Neptune-related matters such as art, idealism, liquids and medicine. The Jupiter-Pluto alignment could be somewhat stronger this week and is likely to enhance wealth accumulation efforts in collective organizations such as corporations and governments. Large scale knowledge projects, especially those connected to political institutions, may also do well under this alignment due to Jupiter’s association with knowledge and Jnana.

Social interactions are also likely to benefit from the approaching conjunction of Venus and the Sun in sidereal Taurus.  Even if the exact conjunction won’t occur until next Tuesday, June 4, the effects of this harmonious pairing are likely to be felt this week.  Meetings, social gatherings and romantic activities are more likely to go well under this conjunction, especially since Venus gains extra strength by virtue of being in its own sign of Taurus.  Family and home-related events may also be favoured under this transit since the Sun rules Leo, the 4th sign from the Sun-Venus conjunction.  Food-related matters are also in focus due to the association of Taurus with the natural 2nd house denoting matters pertaining to the mouth.

The approaching 120-degree alignment of Sun-Venus with Ketu could introduce some unpredictability this week, however, although it will not be exact until next week.  Ketu symbolizes the non-material realm and can sometimes upset our conventional expectations about the Sun (leadership, vitality) and Venus (social connection, luxury).  This Ketu influence could therefore introduce an unorthodox element into social gatherings, perhaps even bordering on the spiritual or transcendent.

Communication, education and technical innovation are also favoured from the late week conjunction of Mercury and Uranus in the first degree of Taurus. While the alignment with Mars (29 Pisces) could introduce a measure of conflict and frustration into matters, there is a tremendous amount of available energy here.  It should be excellent time to initiate new projects pertaining to computers, AI, education and technology in general.

We should watch for possible shifts in the underlying mood as both Mercury and Mars change sidereal signs this week.  Mercury enters Taurus on Friday, May 31 and thus joins the party in Taurus given the triple conjunction of the Sun, Venus and Jupiter.  This is likely confer an additional dose of optimism, perhaps associated with the symbolism of Taurus such as luxuries, relaxation, and leisure.  Mars enters Aries on Saturday, June 1 where it strengthens and becomes more assertive.  Its square alignment with Pluto in early June suggests an increased risk in sudden, violent situations, especially since Ketu will now be six houses from Mars.
