Transit Outlook — Week of 6 January 2025

(5 January 2025) The transits this week suggest a cautious and methodical strategy may yield the best results.  A go-slow approach may still find favor as faithful Jupiter remains in a tense square alignment with constraining Saturn. Although this square is weakening as it separates, it may still exert an influence here, especially if it is activated by a third planet.  That could occur early this week as Mars forms a 135-degree alignment with Saturn on Monday.  While this is not a full-strength Vedic aspect, it nonetheless produces an exact degreewise conjunction in the D-8 Ashtamsa chart (aka the 8th harmonic). The Mars influence on Saturn and Jupiter could raise anxiety and produce frustration.  And with Mars still opposite Pluto, there is increased risk of blunt exertions of power and coercion to start the week. This may cast a pall over the start of the new session of Congress, and it may also have negative connotations for financial markets.

Monday’s Moon-Jupiter alignment at midday (EST) could provide a ray of optimism but it would seem to be overshadowed by other more challenging influences for the rest of the day.  The Mercury-Neptune square is another obvious negative for any kind of communication and business activity as Neptune tends to obscure or distort rational thinking.  Since misunderstandings are more likely with this aspect, expectations should be lowered regarding meetings or actions that are scheduled for Monday and perhaps into Tuesday.

Tuesday also seems difficult as the Mars-Saturn-Jupiter is still within range while the Moon forms a T-square with Mars and Pluto.  This Moon affliction means that emotions could become raw and prone to anger on Tuesday afternoon and evening (EST).  Mercury will leave Neptune behind but then align with Mars on Tuesday which could intensify actions, for good or ill.  Mars-Mercury alignments tend to have high energy and focus on quick reactions to emerging circumstances.  With Saturn still in the picture, it is hard to recommend Tuesday for most activities, although ones that incorporate some measure of opposition or conflict could benefit from this alignment.

The late week may be more constructive as the Moon conjoins Jupiter in Taurus on Thursday and Friday.  Optimism and generosity may be more in evidence and markets may also be more positive in their orientation.

The weekend looks fairly good also as the Sun approaches its 120-degree alignment with Uranus.  This is likely to provide more energy for novel ventures and innovative solutions.  The Moon-Mercury alignment on Sunday could prepare a more fertile environment for conversation and mutual understanding.
