Transit Outlook — Week of 17 February 2025

(16 February 2025)  The transits this week reflect the approaching planetary stations of Mars and Venus.  Mars is due to end its current retrograde cycle next Sunday, Feb 23 while Venus will station retrograde on March 1.  Both planets are therefore moving very slowly and are thus gaining in strength.  Typically, planetary energy is released at the time of alignments with other planets.  We may see some evidence of this increased energy early in the week as Venus aligns with Mercury and the Moon on Tuesday.  Although none of the alignments qualify as full-strength aspects, they are nonetheless exact and could produce a favorable influence.  Monday and Tuesday could be good times for meetings and appointments and new ventures begun at this time are more likely to bear fruit.

The symbolism of Mercury (communication) and Venus (social harmony) also suggest the early week may be suited for social engagements as conversation is likely to be stimulating and well-received.  The possibility of a buoyant mood may also manifest in financial markets early in the week as collective sentiment may be more optimistic.  The transit of the Moon through Libra could also create a positive, balanced outlook given its 5th house, Air sign relationship with the Sun and Mercury in Aquarius.

Wednesday’s Grand Trine of the Moon, Mars and Saturn may enhance courage and determination in the face of opposition.  This could be advantageous for activities involving competition such as athletics or if facing an opponent as in legal matters.  However, with Mars extra strong this week ahead of its direct station there is a risk that conflict could emerge from any competitive interactions.  This also introduces some market risk on Wednesday.

Friday’s alignment of the Moon, Mercury and Jupiter may reflect new opportunities.  There could be some optimism in evidence here which may encourage future-oriented decisions.  The fact that the alignment contains 90 degree angles may undermine the utility of this pattern as a basis for profitable action.  Nonetheless, the building blocks may be sufficient to at least get things started.

The weekend looks more troubled.  Mars will station direct at 22 Gemini and close opposition to the Moon.  Conflict and violence may be more likely at this time.  Sunday evening (EST) is more vulnerable to this malefic energy.  In addition, Mars will form an exact 120-degree alignment with Mercury on Sunday.  This could intensify disagreements and make communication more difficult.  On the plus side, the Mars-Mercury combination may speed up thinking processes and could benefit analytical and computer-related work.  Saturday is definitely the better day of the two, and should be considered first if scheduling social gatherings.
